Start thinking about cleaning out the garage for our semi-annual community garage sale. It is currently scheduled for Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

City of Peoria landscape crews are beginning a process to improve the quality of the grass and turf at the Fletcher Heights North Park, located in the Fletcher Heights community on Hillcrest Blvd.

This is a multi-stage process that will reduce weeds and increase the quantity and quality of the grass.  Crews have scheduled the shutdown of the irrigation system, so that weed killer can be applied and have time to take effect.  Once the weeds have died, we will aerate the site heavily, and then install grass seed, fertilizer, and topdressing to get new grass germinating in the park.

This process will take time, and the condition of the turf will be poor until the new grass seed has had a chance to take hold.
